Clarke's research

Alastair Clarke is a science writer and evolutionary theorist living in Cumbria in the United Kingdom. He was educated at Oxford and London universities, the latter of which he left before completing his doctorate in order to conduct his own research.

Clarke's evolutionary theories, the first of which is pattern recognition theory, started to take shape in 1995. While developing his ideas he worked in a wide variety of occupations, including ghost-writing both fictional and non-fictional books.

Clarke's stance is unshakably rationalist, as his theories and essays display. His interest in humour began with a fascination with human intellect, which led him to consider its reward status and frequency of activity. Further theories developing his interest in fundamental cognitive faculties are due for publication in the forthcoming years.
